Why is Our Platform Unique?

One of our motives is to recognize those who have been left behind by the media and keep alive the names of those who are no longer with us.

Unlike the media, Stories Untold US gives the interviewees a chance to express themselves to the fullest and we make sure to include the organic messages everyday people affected by gun violence share on our platform. Another notable difference from the media is that, Stories Untold US is an organization led by people who have experienced gun violence; therefore our “reporters” have been in the shoes of the interviewees. We understand what is like to go through gun violence, and there is a level of intimacy and relationship that the media is not able to attain.

“I could not be surrounded in it, and watching you guys (Parkland students) have control over your voice and control over how people see you has inspired me to realize that I do have control over my story and that I am strong enough to share my experience.”

— Annette Haugh, Columbine Survivor
